Active Release Techniques® Graston Technique Joint Manipulation Functional Rehabilitation Kinesio Taping®
Our approach to care at Westchester Sports & Wellness combines the most effective, state of the art, hands-on treatment techniques. This method is designed to correct the problem by restoring normal function and motion to the tissues that are causing the problem. It is common that the cause of the problem is different from the area of pain. It is also important to realize that all patients are individuals and may respond differently to, or be affected differently by conditions or treatments. For this reason, our treatment plans are based on a thorough functional orthopedic and neurological evaluation and customized to meet the needs of each individual.
One of the most important aspects of our treatments is to empower the patient to be able to take control of their condition and their body. This is important, not only for maintenance, but for enhancing wellness after symptoms have been relieved. In this way, patients are able to manage their lifestyles and conditions appropriately in order to live and perform at their fullest potential.
The therapy works under the philosophy that the proper function of the body's joints, soft tissue and nervous system are essential to speed up recovery from injuries. Restoring this function improves performance in all aspects of life.
Our approach is different because it uses a unique combination of powerful therapies that include:
• Functional soft tissue techniques, including Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) and Graston to break down scar tissue and adhesions.
• Joint manipulation techniques to normalize joint mechanics.
• Functional rehabilitation to restore optimal function and prevent re-injury.
• Nutrition interventions to assist the healing and repair process and to enhance cellular health. |
